The Kia Forte has long been recognized for enchanting looks and unbelievable bang for your buck, and absolutely nothing has been altered from that formula in the past 10 years. Regardless of just being 10 years old, we’re currently on the 3rd generation of the Kia Forte. You may observe that the 2020 Kia Forte has even more of a stylish look than in years past. That’s no accident as it was made by the same person that brought us the outstanding Kia Stinger. So, is the ’20 Kia Forte a good-looking economy vehicle or a mini Stinger? Truthfully, it’s a little of both.
There are 2 powerplant options scattered over 6 trim levels on the ’20 Kia Forte. The base engine is a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that creates 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft. of torque. It can be coupled with either a 6-speed manual transmission or an Intelligent Variable Transmission (Kia’s term for CVT). The 6-speed returns approximately 37mpg on the freeway while the IVT returns approximately 41mpg. If you move up to the GT trim you get a smaller engine yet even more power. The brand-new Kia Forte GT is powered by a 1.6L turbo 4-cylinder engine that generates 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft. of torque. It can be paired to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch auto, with each returning 32 miles per gallon and 35mpg respectively.
As we pointed out earlier, the designer of the 2020 Kia Forte also designed the ’20 Stinger, and there are certainly some styling resemblances on the GT trim. The Kia Stinger FE is the base version and comes outfitted with such options as 15-inch wheels, projector-beam headlights, and daytime running lights. If you’re looking for more than simply an attractive commuter then you can go with 18-inch wheels, LED headlamps, LED DRL, LED rear combo taillights, a sunroof, and double chrome exhaust outlets. Inside you’ll locate an 8-inch touch-screen display, 6-way adjustable driver’s seat, 12-volt outlets, power windows, and power locks. You can upgrade to heated/cooled front seats, back A/C vents, LED inside lighting, and double USB charging ports.
Regardless of which trim you select you’ll be engulfed by a wealth of tech. Navigation, wireless cellphone charging, and a parking distance warning are all options on the 2020 Kia Forte. The remarkable thing is all the typical safety technology that comes on every Forte. The functions include Driver Attention Warning, Forward Collision Warning, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Departure Warning, and Lane Keeping Assist. Blind-Spot Collision Warning, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Change Assist, and Smart Cruise Control are simply several of the excellent modern technologies that are available on the 2020 Forte.
